Downloading videos from the internet

There are lots of good reasons to download videos from the internet such as wanting to view them when you aren’t connected to the internet, not wanting to waste bandwidth and downloading quotas by downloading a video more than once , and teachers want to download videos to edit them. Most of the time I’ve used add-ons in the Mozilla Firefox browser. I have found this one to be very good:

Easy Youtube Downloader

But today a colleague showed me a new, cross-browser and cross-platform solution. Just paste in a url and then choose which of the available download options you wish. This page explains what to do:  http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001002.htm

Bear in mind this caution about adverts you may encounter while using this:

” Caution: These services can be used to save any flash videos online and can be used to save adult related videos, which means when viewing these pages you may be subjected to adult related content. “
